A new day a new business

Whoo, something else to distract me from work! Not only do I have facebook-both personal profile-Joyce Bullock and a group one for Insight Design Consultancy, a twitter account, but now I am commiting to a regular blog!

Perhaps I am mad, but apparently its all good for business. And business is what I do, a life would be nice but for now its all about business.

Later today Tom, Neil and I will officially launch a new landscaping and design company, wahay! I am very excited about it, even though we have been working together for years I am so pleased to begin a more cohesive way of working, offering our client a more comprehensive service. We are seeing the accountant at 4pm and will register Woodyatt Construction as our company name and will trade as something else-yet to be confirmed.

All this in the midst of a busy week-playing catch up on Monday after a two day stint exhibiting at the Winter Fair at Stafford Bingley Hall. Tiring just hanging around in the cold, but good to hear the cows, see my lovely friend Lyn from Squeak Gift & Party, meet new clients (always good!!) and think about a little Christmas shopping-purchasing from other stall holders is a must-it keeps the economy flowing! Tuesday was on site planting at Mr T's house in Sutton Coldfield. I had bought some wonderful plants that will complement perfectly the fabulous David Austin Roses. I worked with Mr T's gardener, a wiry chap with just a few teeth remaining. He was kept going by having a fag every half hour or so... It was lovely doing a bit of graft and getting stuck in, but by the time afternoon came and the temperature started to drop I was beginning to seize up. I think I may be getting old. I was positively done in by the time I got home and spent the evening ga ga!

Wednesday is always a toughie, I am captive all day in a windowless room doing something I would rather not.....I got out at lunchtime and ate my soup in a car park. Back to the cupboard for a stint, rush home and then rush out to teach my gardening class at Walton School, Stafford. Having done my PTLLS class last week, I now realise I am struggling with 'diversification' and would cheerfully punch one of the learners, though the LEA object to this. Still, we got the projector going, having done last weeks PTLLS class I now appreciate that using different teaching resources is important.

An appointment with the specailist today post car accident in July-was advised to put it on and groan in faux pain but I couldnt do it....am just no good at lying, dammit. I have probably done myself out of a bit of $ now but hey, you cant be someone you are not.

I have to write a 10minute presentation shortly, for my PTLLS course (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), along with loads of other homework that forms the portfolio of course work. Its almost fun pretending to a be a commuter/normal person and catch the train in the our second city. The Christmas market is on and is lovely, but all the dawdling folk annoy me and I want to swear at them and shove them out of the way: Note to self-look at anger management workshop!?

Saturday, ah Saturday. I am looking forward to Saturday, I am doing a jewellery workshop with lovely Julie W, soo looking forward to it. Then I am off to see James Morrison in concert in the evening, my escort has buggered off golfing in Florida so a girlfiend will accompany me.

Sunday, oh yes, more work, I have an appointment with some people I met at Winter Fair. The took me up on my offer of a FREE site visit. Now not only can I/we offer fantastic garden design, we can offer the complete package with superb construction, fantastic customer service and professionals you would be very happy to have around. Cant say fairer than that!

Well, that seems like lots of writing. I wonder if I will learn to precis or edit (Christine says I SHOULD), or perhaps type quicker?

  2. Hi Poppet, its a template from Blog Spot site, you just choose one and there it is.

Will have to pace myself, I am running on empty!

IDC will continue, I get teaching work through it so will keep that up, besides all the construction work will go to the limited company anyway.

Thanks so much for reading it Pixen, its very kind of you. I do appreciate it. Lots of love, to the poorly man too! x
